Marine Technology Centre

The Marine Technology Centre (CETMAR) is a Galician based foundation; it was established in 2001 at the initiative of the Galician regional government’s Marine Administration and R&D&I Departments, and of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and has its headquarters in Vigo. Its objective is to improve the marine environment, its resources and all the sectors that live off the sea, by promoting innovation and environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Its sphere of influence is local, national, European, and international.

The Spanish National Research Council has been a member of the Board of Trustees since is foundation and is present for decision making and collaborating with the start-up and fulfilment of various types of research projects related to the marine environment and the sectors that depend on it.
